In 2022, no more makeup!
Finished the coat of varnish on the trays and on the storage box, the wood is now steamed then sanded with a fine grain to obtain a pleasant touch.
Potential exposure to substances likely to form chemical cocktails whose effects remain unknown is therefore reduced.
It cannot be forgotten that within 15 years more than 50 chemical substances with very high concerns (SVHC) has been forbiden in Europe as well as in the USA.
While the limit allowed for others was considerably reduced.
And this almost simultaneously in Europe and the United States, which remain the leader on this subject.
The thicknesses used have been reinforced in order to obtain a tray that is more resistant to the ravages of time (and those of the children...), in particular by limiting the natural risk of warping.
A visible robustness and an impeccable finish of the handles so that even the youngest players handle the product themselves.
And to tidy up...

The 200 x 200 x 3 mm (7.87 x 7.87 x 0.11 inch) pad in SBS material, adhesive on both sides, permanently repositionable and washable, is now black, a color allowing a strong contrast to facilitate educational or rehabilitation uses.
Thanks to its 4 "ears", the adhesive pad is easily installed and removed from the tray.
But what do we do with GOSTOP?
When in the tray, the SBS pad is used as a sticky horizontal play/activity area with papers, cardboard, plastic cards, tokens, wooden puzzle pieces (1) and facilitate making a model.
When off the board, the SBS pad is used as both a horizontal play/activity area or a vertical play/activity/display area.
What are the benefits of vertical play?
The benefits of vertical play have been covered in a previous post and a special publication.
The tray without the SBS pad has a white background where you can write, draw, ... with an erasable marker.
GOSTOP benefits from a presentation either individually with a single tray for a single player or in a workshop of 6 boards presented in a wooden storage box.
This box with six storage spaces also has additional space to accommodate two additional trays (8-player workshop) or additional accessories for activities or games.

(1) To facilitate the sticking effect of the wooden puzzle pieces, two solutions:
- Use a very fine grit sandpaper to obtain a very smooth back of the parts.
- Varnish the back of the wooden pieces and leave to dry for several days before use (on the eve of holidays for example)
